ARTISTIC STYLE
I consider it a real privilege to be part of your special event and want to exceed your expectations. Please review my work via my website galleries and social media to ensure you like my artistic style. You can be assured I will create your project to the same quality as the samples on my website and social media.
We reserve the right to cancel a project, without refund of the 50% deposit. In circumstances where there is a mismatch in styles, approach and expectations. Or the client is uncooperative, not open to suggestions or makes any member of our team feel uncomfortable.
In such circumstances we will contact the client by email within 24 hours of such an event, together with confirmation by telephone where appropriate. It is advisable to please ensure that you familiarise yourself with my work portfolio and ensure you are confident with my capabilities and my style is appropriate for your event and vision, before securing a booking. Elle Crabtree Calligraphy will use reasonable care and skill in fulfilling the assignment.
HANDWRITTEN STYLE
Unlike computer generated work, our modern calligraphy lettering is completed by hand and entirely unique in nature. Therefore, all of our work contains natural variations and differing flourishes in the letter forms. These variations result in every piece that leaves our studio being a unique work of art.
All calligraphy (handwritten and digital forms) is completed in our studio by Elle and will not be outsourced, unless discussed and clearly stated on quotation. Our goods are handmade and are unique. Part of the character and nature of such goods is that they are subject to colour and shade variations. Therefore, defects shall not include:
1. Colour variations
2. Natural variations
3. Errors not identified by the client
4. Differing letter formations and flourishes within the same order
DEPOSIT & PAYMENTS
A 50% deposit must be paid upon agreement of quotation for work to proceed. No work will be accepted or booked into our diary until a deposit is received. The remaining balance is due before, printing, completion and shipping.
Orders under £60, must be paid in full to book.
Due to the handcrafted and personalised nature of our products and services, we require you to pay a 50% deposit of the price of your order on acceptance of your quotation and we reserve the right to increase this dependant on the brief or any requested amendments at a later date. The balance payment is required to be paid by you, the client, including where applicable any delivery and packaging costs prior to shipping your order.
Rush jobs can be accepted dependant on brief and on diary availability. Rush jobs must be paid in full prior to work being accepted and commenced. Please see Payment Schedule for rush job fees.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUND POLICY
CANCELLATIONS
I want you to be thrilled with the goods and service you receive from Elle Crabtree Calligraphy. In the event of an order being cancelled by the client after a deposit has been paid, Elle Crabtree Calligraphy will not refund any money. Each order is entirely bespoke and handmade especially for you, after a deposit has been received, the design process and associated administration will have started, and Elle Crabtree Calligraphy will not refund any monies paid.
If dates need to be rescheduled after a deposit has been received, depending on diary availability we may be able to be accommodate a date change. If the new date cannot be accommodated, the deposit is non refundable as the design process would have started.
REFUNDS
Due to the nature of our products being entirely bespoke, personalised and handcrafted we are unable to accept cancellations after a deposit has been paid, starting from when the order was placed.
From 13 June 2014, the Consumer Contracts Regulations - which implement the European Consumer Rights Directive into UK law - apply to all purchases you make at a distance, for example online or over the phone. Returns apply to most products but there are some goods you can't return if you simply change your mind, including tailor-made or personalised goods. Therefore, as all of our products and service are tailor-made and personalised goods made especially for the client, these are an exception to the normal regulations and refund policies outlined in the Consumer Contracts Regulations and refunds will not be given.
In the unlikely event that Elle Crabtree Calligraphy cancels the order, all monies paid to date will be refunded in full.
REPLACEMENT
If you have any issues regarding your order, such as any missing or incorrect items, please contact Elle Crabtree Calligraphy within 24 hours of the order being received and I will immediately seek to rectify it.
SHIPPING
We use Royal Mail Special Delivery or by courier (DPD) which are tracked and insured for delivery on all orders. Larger pieces will be sent via courier. Shipping costs will be added to quotation dependant on size and weight of finished products.
Elle Crabtree Calligraphy accepts no responsibility for items lost in the post or delayed due to postal strikes or circumstances outside of our control.
Collection is available from our studio in Wiltshire, strictly by appointment only, please contact us to arrange a date and time to collect. Quotations/Final Balance must be paid in full prior to securing a collection date.
NAMES & ADDRESSES
Your final quote will be sent to you for approval and sign off, and this will then allow the specified goods to be started. Once the brief/quote is signed off by the client, no responsibility will be accepted by us for any spelling errors, incorrect names, dates or any other information set out in the quotation.
Any changes to the quotation thereafter will incur additional charges. Any changes will be charged at an hourly rate of £35.
We are not responsible for any invitations and envelopes that do not make it to their intended address. Please check your address list carefully to ensure that all addresses are correct to minimise the chance of this happening.
Any wording for your design must be typed, ideally supplied in a PDF document to avoid any formatting changes in sharing, or in an email or word document. Hand written notes / annotations / photographs will not be accepted to ensure accuracy.
EXTRA MATERIALS
I am human and due to the handwritten nature of our services and the use of ink, mistakes can happen. If we are handwriting on items that you have provided to us, we request that you supply an extra 20% to allow for any errors. Any unused will be returned.
For example: (100 places which the client is supplying, we would require 120).
QUOTES
All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date outline on the quotation. Once a quote has been accepted, a non-refundable deposit will be required prior to any design work being started or formally booked into the diary.
SOCIAL MEDIA, MARKETING, SAMPLES & PHOTOGRAPHS
Elle Crabtree Calligraphy reserves the right to use samples of your stationery/orders for photography, social media, design portfolio and marketing purposes.
This includes photographing and videoing products for use on social media platforms, business marketing materials and our website. This also comprises of including samples and photographs within sample packs and to display at wedding fairs and events.
Photos of client work will not be published until after the event date given. We will obscure personal details where necessary.
We would love to see images of our work in use, please share images on social media and credit with Calligraphy by Elle Crabtree and tag @ellecrabtreecalligraphy. Professional photos and reviews of my work are always appreciated.
COPYRIGHT
As the artist, I remain sole owner of all artistic rights. Commissioned art is for personal use only and not for commercial use or reproduction.
Elle Crabtree Calligraphy holds copyright for all design and you, or any third party can not copy or reproduce any of my designs from the PDF proofs sent to you.
Any improper uses of the stationery or our designs will be pursued.
PRINTS, VOWS & QUOTE COMMISSIONS
Framing is not provided or included with your order.
For all commissions, you will receive a proof to be signed off by the client prior to the final piece being completed. Your handwritten piece will be wrapped in luxury tissue paper and carefully packaged and protected for shipping. Luxury gift boxes are available on request for an additional charge.
RUSH JOBS
Rush jobs can be accepted dependant on brief and on diary availability. Due to their nature rush, jobs incur additional costs:
RUSH FEE (Within Two Weeks of Job) +40% of total invoice
RUSH FEE (Within One Week of Job) +80% of total invoice
Rush jobs must be paid in full prior to work being accepted and commenced.
